Which selling platform has the lowest fees depends on the price, but in the US it is Depop on a $50 sale: $2.10, against $10.00 on Poshmark, the most expensive of the seven. Green is the lowest fee at that price. Assumptions: Depop: US seller, payment processing only. TikTok Shop: an 8% referral fee, which sellers report from August 2026 though TikTok's public page still says 6%; no creator commission, which is extra when a creator makes the sale. Etsy: transaction, payment processing and one listing fee; not an Offsite Ads sale. eBay: most categories, no Store subscription, free shipping. Poshmark: the buyer pays the prepaid label, so no shipping is deducted.
Why the ranking looks like this
Depop charges US sellers payment processing and no selling fee, which puts it at the top. TikTok Shop's referral fee is a single percentage well below eBay's. Poshmark's flat 20% makes it the most expensive on the fee alone, though its buyer pays for shipping, which the others mostly leave to you.
In the middle of the table the order changes with price: Etsy and Mercari swap places at about $91. Check the individual calculators before moving inventory: eBay, Etsy, Mercari, Poshmark, Depop, Whatnot and TikTok Shop.
What the lowest fee does not tell you
A marketplace is worth its fee if it sells the item faster or for more. Clothing moves on Depop and Poshmark, collectibles on Whatnot and eBay, handmade goods on Etsy. By fee alone, Depop: $3.75 on a $100 sale. At the other end, Poshmark takes $20.00. Local, in-person sites such as Facebook Marketplace charge nothing when the buyer pays cash on collection.
Who has lower fees, Whatnot or eBay?
Whatnot, on most sales: $11.20 on $100 against eBay's $14.00. Whatnot's cut is its 8% commission plus 2.9% and 30¢ processing; eBay's final value fee is 13.6% in most categories.
Is Mercari cheaper than eBay?
On a $50 sale Mercari takes $5.00 and eBay $7.20; on $250 it is $25.00 against $34.40. Mercari takes a flat 10% and no longer charges sellers payment processing, so it undercuts eBay's 13.6% plus per-order fee.
