TikTok Shop's referral fee is the number sellers quote, and almost nobody pays only that. TikTok says the referral fee covers all its own fees, with no separate charge per order, and this calculator starts it at 6%, the rate on TikTok's own fee page for most categories. The bigger cost is the creators. The affiliate commission a seller sets to attract them — routinely 10% to 20% of the item price — is charged on top of the referral fee, not out of it. At 6% referral and 20% commission a product is handing over 26% before a single cost of goods. That is the number that decides whether the product works, so it is an input here rather than a footnote.
How it's calculated
Net profit = (price + shipping charged) × (1 − referral rate ÷ 100) − transaction fee − (price × creator commission ÷ 100) − item cost − your shipping − ad spend

Questions sellers ask
How much fees does TikTok Shop charge?
A referral fee on the order total, which TikTok says covers all TikTok Shop fees, so there is no separate per-order charge. That fee is 6% in most categories and 5% in some jewellery and pre-owned ones, per TikTok's own fee pages. Creator commission is separate and set by you, typically 10% to 20% of the item price, and it is charged on top.
How much is a 300k TikTok account worth?
Account sales are against TikTok's terms and the figures quoted in resale groups, often $1,000 to $3,000 at that follower count, are not a reliable guide. For a seller the more useful measure is what the account earns: a shop account converting at 1% on 300,000 followers with 5% reach is about 150 orders a month, which at the $11.19 per order above is around $1,700 of profit.
How much do TikTok ads cost per 1,000 views?
In-feed ads run roughly $6 to $12 per thousand impressions in the US, though Spark Ads boosting creator content often land lower. The figure that matters for a shop is cost per order, not per thousand views — enter it as ad spend above. At $10 CPM and a 0.5% purchase rate, 1,000 impressions produce five orders at $2 each.
Is selling on TikTok Shop worth it?
The referral fee is the lowest of any major marketplace, at 6% in most categories, against eBay's 13.6% or Amazon's 15%. The catch is that the commission needed to get creators to promote you pushes the real rate to 16% or higher, as the examples above show. It works for products with a landed cost under about 40% of the retail price, and badly for anything thinner.
